How stock and options automation works

AI Trading Biz evaluates saved, user-directed rules against market and account data. It does not select a strategy or security for you.

Explicit user-defined conditions Mechanical rule evaluation Connected brokerage execution Traceable orders and positions

The operating model

Automation carries out a plan you configure

You choose the account, symbol or strategy, order sizing, opening conditions and closing conditions. The platform repeatedly checks those instructions and submits an order only when all required conditions pass.

Rule to order

What happens during an automation cycle

01

Load the saved rule

The system reads the enabled rule, its account group and the latest saved configuration.

02

Read current context

It loads relevant quotes, positions, buying power, pending orders and strategy state.

03

Evaluate every condition

Entry or exit signals, timing, position limits and risk controls must all permit the action.

04

Select the order

For options, eligible expirations and contracts are filtered and ranked using the configured method.

05

Submit through the broker

The order is sent only to an eligible connected account with sufficient buying power.

06

Track the outcome

Pending, filled, canceled and closed activity is associated with its originating rule when available.

Stock automation

Per-symbol rules

Stock rules are designed for a repeatable add/reduce workflow around a symbol selected by the user.

Symbol and quantitySelect the stock and shares submitted per eligible order.
Maximum quantityPrevent new buys from taking the position above the saved cap.
Buy and sell differencesDefine mechanical price differences relative to the rule’s reference data.
Loss and price limitsSuspend or constrain activity when user-defined boundaries are reached.
Account checksRequire an enabled rule, available funds and no conflicting pending order.

Options automation

Contract and strategy rules

Options rules add contract selection, multi-leg structure, pricing quality and expiration-aware exits.

Strategy structureConfigure calls, puts, stock legs, direction, quantity and linked multi-leg relationships.
Strike selectionTarget delta, percentage OTM, underlying-price offset, premium or a linked leg.
Expiration selectionUse a target DTE or a range; preview every available expiration returned inside that range.
Contract rankingChoose volume, open interest, spread, strike, expiration, ask or delta-based methods.
Exit managementConfigure profit, stop-loss, VIX, days-in-trade or days-to-expiration behavior where supported.

Options contract selection

From a broad chain to an eligible order

The preview provides context; the execution service evaluates the configured range and filters unusable contracts before ranking.

1Load chainRequested symbol and call/put side
2Apply DTE rangeAll returned expirations inside the range
3Apply contract rulesITM requirement and configured selection method
4Validate quoteBid/ask, spread, price and quote freshness
5Check accountRule exposure and available buying power

Safeguards and control

Reasons the platform may not submit an order

Rule disabledThe user has paused the rule or the configured action is not enabled.
Signal not metThe latest market or position value does not satisfy the saved comparison.
Exposure reachedMaximum quantity or maximum active-trade limits have already been reached.
Pending conflictAn open order already exists for the relevant symbol and side.
Quote rejectedAn option quote is missing, stale, crossed, too wide or unable to produce a valid limit price.
Insufficient buying powerNo eligible connected account can support the estimated order cost.
Broker rejectionThe brokerage may reject an order because of permissions, account state or its own controls.
Market-data unavailableThe system avoids acting when a required signal or quote cannot be calculated.

Monitoring after submission

Orders, positions and option-strategy history

Order statusReview pending, filled, canceled and rejected activity returned by the broker.

Position attributionNew option activity records its rule and execution identifiers for safer management.

Performance snapshotsOption strategies can be sampled every 15 minutes for one-hour, two-hour, daily and longer views.

Pattern Day Trader and margin rules

Do not rely on a static PDT number shown by a trading tool

Day-trading rules apply at the brokerage-account level and can cover stocks and options. Regulatory proposals, effective dates and broker-specific restrictions can change.

AI Trading Biz does not present its own PDT count or fixed threshold as authoritative. Before enabling frequent trading, confirm your account status and current limits directly with your broker and review FINRA’s current day-trading guidance.

Common questions

Before turning a rule on

Does AI Trading Biz choose securities or recommend settings?

No. Users choose the symbol, strategy, sizing, thresholds and whether the rule is enabled.

Does a matching signal guarantee an order or fill?

No. Account eligibility, buying power, pending orders, quote quality, broker acceptance, liquidity and price movement can prevent submission or filling.

Is the option-chain preview the final selected contract?

Not necessarily. The preview shows market context. At execution time the service evaluates current contracts across the configured range and applies the saved ranking and quote-quality rules.

Should I test a rule before using live funds?

Paper testing can help reveal configuration and execution behavior, but simulated results do not guarantee live results.
